Thinking back, my first real awakening to eating seasonally did not come from a cookbook or a passionate advocate for seasonal local food. It came from a farmer: Eliot Coleman. His gardening book, The Four-Season Harvest, opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibility in growing and eating foods seasonally. So, it has all sprung from there.
