One more week, and there will be countertops and a sink, and it will be time to move back in and get cooking for real. I’m jonesing for some serious prep space and a big sink to clean up in. I have started to use the range in the last week, and the smell of food drifting through the house is fabulous. You don’t get that from a microwave. I baked a squash and a pumpkin that were in danger of going bad, and boiled two pounds of beets for Ottolenghi’s Beet Salad with Preserved Lemon Relish. What a tonic.
It really is the little things, sometimes.
See you next week.
