The dough was turned onto a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal, slashed with a crosshatch pattern, and put in a 450 deg. F preheated oven on a baking stone. Julia says to toss 1/2 cup of water onto the bottom of the oven, but I am not sure what that will do to my oven, so I put the water in a baking tray on the bottom rack instead. Now we wait for baked-bread goodness, while we watch Boardwalk Empire. And drink wine. Should be about 30-40 min.
The water works , just be careful to not get burned , the steam makes a great crust . Happy bread and butter
