My Iron Chef moment.

I have been messing around with rhubarb all month, looking for ways to use it that don’t involve dessert. After quickly discovering the Rhubarb Balsamic Reduction and Maple Rhubarb Glaze, I found myself struggling to find success in my Don-Quixote-Meets-Iron-Chef quest for rhubarby goodness, without a load of sugar or crust involved.

Strawberry Crepe-Because I Said I Would.

Out of focus, but still delicious.

Why, yes, since you asked, it is my second crepe of the morning, and yes, that is bacon on the plate too, and yes, I did sop up the chocolate sauce with the bacon. Along with the strawberry filling, I mixed up a little ricotta cheese, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt to make a creamy cheesy second filling. And a Happy Father’s Day has commenced.

Summer’s Here! Woohoo!

School’s out for The Boy, the town pool is open, the Farmer’s Markets have started up, and our first share pickup at our CSA is this Tuesday. It must be summer. But if all those facts aren’t enough to indicate the change in seasons, look at these:

I mean, just look at them! They are the strawberries of the gods. When I brought them home from the Farmer’s Market this morning, I knew they could be only one thing-strawberry pie.
